He was also involved with the Congress party and closely interacted with prime ministers Indira Gandhi and Rajiv Gandhi, and handled the late Sunil Dutt’s PR during his initial election campaigns.
On the teaching side, he has given on-the-job training to newcomers in reporting/editing at all the newspapers he has worked with. That apart, the author also conducted classes on newspaper design and use of newspaper production software, besides web designing.

Though born and brought up — and having learnt the art of Journalism in Bombay — Shrikant also had the opportunity to work in Hyderabad and Dubai, with leading newspapers there.
Presently, he has settled down in Parkala, a small town in Karnataka’s coastal Udupi district abutting the educational, medical and banking hub of Manipal, with his family, consisting of wife Rohini, a teacher by training and an executive in hospitality by profession, and two children, Vishal and Pratiksha.
His main interests are innovative web development and creative design, blogging, organic farming, cooking, spiritual activities, environmental and social issues, though not necessarily in that order. And that’s not all!
